History

In 1961, John W. and Richard P. Jahnke (now retired) formed the partnership of JAHNKE & JAHNKE to provide consulting services in civil engineering, land surveying, and municipal planning. The intent was to make engineering, planning and surveying services available so that governments and private individuals need employ only one firm to assist in meeting their particular needs. The ensuing years have proven that this combination of experience and education is needed and desired by governmental units, industries, and individuals.

In addition to serving various government entities, the firm does work for individuals, businesses, utilities, and land developers. It serves as engineers, planners, and surveyors for subdivision developments, utility and street design, site planning, shopping centers, office parks, multi-family developments, mobile home parks, and property surveys. The firm has been responsible for design, engineering and layout work for over 350 subdivisions, comprising more than 15,000 lots. Some examples are Hawk’s nest and High Ridge in the Town of Delafield, Eagle’s Ridge in the Village of Sussex; Five Fields, Springdale, Riverwood, and Lake Park in Pewaukee; Merrill Crest, Rolling Ridge, Springbrook, and Priedeman Estates, in the City of Waukesha ; River Park Estates in Mukwonago; and the Preserve at Hunter’s Lake in the Town of Ottawa. Industries such as QuadGraphics, RTE, International Harvester, Wisconsin Centrifugal, Marcus Corporation, and HUSCO have used the firm’s services for site planning and/or development of industrial and business parks in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha, Mequon, Brookfield, Brown Deer, Sussex, Pewaukee, Johnson Creek and Oak Creek. Wisconsin Electric Power Company has used Jahnke & Jahnke Associates for extensive surveying including clearance surveys, property surveys and landfill work. Additional past or present clients include Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Wisconsin Bell, Super America, Amoco Oil, Burger King, Taco Bell, Ambrosia Chocolate, Kohls, American TV and many others.

The partnership grew to the point that the firm incorporated as Jahnke & Jahnke Associates and has grown from two engineers/planners to a staff of over thirty-five engineers, planners and technicians with six field crews. Providing a quality service to individuals as well as governmental, business and industrial entities remains our goal.
